Why Attending Legal Marketing Seminars is Important
In today’s world, attorney marketing is an important part of a law firm’s success. Gone are the days when there was just one lawyer in town or when an attorney could count on referrals to keep his business going. Now there is lots of competition and that competition is advertising. Many of them are using dated advertising methods—such as advertising in the yellow pages—that are unlikely to have the effects that they want.
You don’t have to do the same thing. You can choose to attend legal marketing seminars that teach new, ethical and effective ways to market your law firm.
What Attending a Marketing Seminar Can Teach You
Attending an attorney marketing seminar is only important if you are going to apply what you are taught. Other attorneys have found attending a seminar important so that they can learn:
- How to attract the clients that they want to their law firm;
- How to increase their income; and
- How to lead a more balanced life and enjoy time with family and friends.
These are worthy goals. They are also achievable goals, but they require hard work. A well-designed legal marketing conference can give you the tools that you need to achieve these goals through advertising and law firm marketing systems.
Most attorneys start their firms assuming that being a really, really good attorney should, in and of itself, be a marketing advantage. Those attorneys believe that joining a whole bunch of committees and putting their name in lawyer directories is “marketing,” and they never bother to ask if there is a better way.
Attorneys are catching on, however, and those who succeed learn to leverage their current resources to create effective (and ethical) marketing. What they discover isn’t a magic pill or silver bullet but a different approach to marketing that your competitors haven’t considered.
