Head of Finance and Human Resources
Joe has an undergraduate degree in business management. After college Joe worked in both small and large businesses and has grown fond of the small business community that operates as the backbone of the American economy. He is keen on improving small businesses to benefit the business owner first and ultimately to the great benefit of the consumer.
Joe handles finance and human resources work for Great Legal Marketing and BenGlassLaw. It’s his 5 years of hands-on experience working in both of these businesses that informs Joe’s approach to finance and HR. Whether it’s setting up a health insurance plan, managing a 401k, generating a budget, improving cash management, developing performance evaluations, or building out new office space Joe knows a thing or two about how to get it done.
Here’s the deal – the ‘practice of law’, once a highly insular industry, is beginning to modernize. That shift is happening at an ever-accelerating pace. This shift is requiring law firm owners to become much more sophisticated in the language and practice of business. This can be a scary change, especially because law firm owners aren’t prepared by law school for the demands of business ownership. It doesn’t have to be scary though. Business ownership is exciting. Joe and the GLM team can and will guide you through the labyrinth of finance and human resources decisions with direct and actionable advice that is appropriate for you and your small business. This advice is grounded in practice techniques and strategies that will improve your bottom line.
Joe is an avid reader of nonfiction, chiefly presidential biographies. Joe loves soccer both playing in adult leagues and watching the various European soccer leagues like the English Premier League. Joe also enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle which includes weightlifting in his home gym, hunting, indoor rock climbing, backpacking, and basic woodworking.
Small business is where an incredible amount of happiness is born. I hope that is now, or soon becomes, the case for you.
Most attorneys start their firms assuming that being a really, really good attorney should, in and of itself, be a marketing advantage. Those attorneys believe that joining a whole bunch of committees and putting their name in lawyer directories is “marketing,” and they never bother to ask if there is a better way.
Attorneys are catching on, however, and those who succeed learn to leverage their current resources to create effective (and ethical) marketing. What they discover isn’t a magic pill or silver bullet but a different approach to marketing that your competitors haven’t considered.
If you want a peek at what successful attorneys use to market their practice, the HERO Starter Kit is your logical next step.
We’ve put together a FREE (and potentially life-changing) kit for solo and small firm attorneys that will show you a better way to reach potential clients and get them excited to call your firm. Request your HERO Starter Kit from Great Legal Marketing!
